We started the year in
Panama, where we had left Milvina for the summer. After the usual work on the boat, and another trip through the canal to help fellow cruisers get to the Pacific, we sailed about 100 miles East to the San Blas Islands then on to San Andreas, Providencia, Guanaha Roatan and finally to the Rio Dulce in Guatemala, where we laid Milvina up for the summer and flew home. Arriving back home started with 14 days quarantine due to Covid 19.
This was no hardship as the Poiriers had stocked our house, and we had lots
to do there. We sold our home of 43 years on Fisher's Point in June. We moved out on the morning of 7th September, and by the following evening the house was gone. Photos of the rapid change on Fisher's Point here and photos of the new house here The new owner is building a modern, large house on the site. |

Almost immediately after selling, Neil flew to Halifax to look at an RV (mobile home to Brits), bought it and drove it home. Two days later Neil and Helen drove it to Alberta to register it (thus avoiding the brutal Quebec sales tax) and initiate the paperwork to become Alberta residents. We took more time than on previous trips across Canada, so saw a bit more of the scenery, although several places worth visiting were closed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. After 10 days doing Provincial paperwork and exploring Kanannaskis, we drove home |

Then it was clearing out
the house, which was much more work than we had forseen. We sold and gave away much of the furniture and stored most of the rest in Glenn's basement. There is about a much as will fit in the smallest U-Haul truck, as shown in the photo We plan to return for it when we get into our new house in Mid March 2021. We drove west with a few stops before Calgary, then toured the Kootenay area of SE British Columbia, and Vancouver Island, A little of the Rockies before coming back to Canmore where we rented an apartment for November to February. |
